As board liaison to the Amenities Committee, I am writing this month’s report to announce changes to the committee management. As many of you know, Beverly Abbott has resigned as chairperson of the committee effective Nov. 1.  

 

Beverly has been instrumental in managing some big changes at the clubhouse, including installing a room-sized carpet and noise-absorbing panels to control sound levels. She also located vendors and secured bids for the new railing installed outside the clubhouse and the soon-to-be-installed fob-controlled, ADA-compliant front door. These were no small tasks!  But these are just some of Beverly’s larger accomplishments. There are so many other things I can’t begin to list that Beverly and her husband, Ray, do for us behind the scenes every day to keep our clubhouse clean and operating smoothly. The board is grateful for your service to the community, Beverly. 

 

With Beverly’s resignation, two current committee members, Joanna Knox and Jerry Smith, have agreed to take over running the Amenities Committee as co-chairpersons. We are excited to have Joanna, a Phase 1 resident, and Jerry, from Phase 2, working together. We wish them well taking over the management of the committee and incorporating the new Phase 2 amenities into an ever-growing list of supervisory tasks.
