Courtyards at Southpoint
February 2026 Q & A
Landscaping Approval
The December edition of Courtyards Connection mentioned the Communications Committee would prepare a guide with frequently asked questions about our neighborhood and the larger area.
Our goal is to assist residents who have lived here for several years, as well as newer residents. We begin this month by including one question and answer in each edition of the newsletter.
Brenda Rogers contacted Sylvia Robinson, chair of the Architectural Review Committee, to learn the committee’s most frequently asked question. Here is the question and Sylvia’s answer:
Question: As a homeowner, how do I receive approval for landscaping my courtyard?
Answer: You complete the Architectural Request Application Form — ARC application — available on Slack under Documents Permanent: ARC Form and submit the completed application to Casey Ferrara at William Douglas Property Management. She will check the ARC application and then forward the request to the Architectural Review Committee for review.
After careful review, the ARC members make a recommendation to the homeowners association board, and the board’s decision is forwarded to the William Douglas. Within 30 days from submission, the applicant should receive notification from William Douglas regarding the board’s action. If approved, the landscaping plan may be implemented.
