Irrigation, Community Marker, Fall Aeration

At the time of writing this update, we continue to await installation of the drip irrigation system that will water plantings around the pavilion, pickleball court and lap pool. Installation has been pushed back a couple of weeks because of administrative delays between William Douglas Property Management and the irrigation company. Nonetheless, we will continue to work through the issues to complete the project as soon as possible.

The footer for the new community marker at the Fenwick Parkway entrance to our neighborhood was poured during the second week of August. That concrete needs to cure before the marker can be erected on the footer. In the meantime, the vendor experienced an unexpected and unpreventable delay in completing construction of the marker. We believe, however, the project is on track to be completed by the first half of September, as previously announced at the HOA board meeting, and possibly even sooner. Our plans are to landscape around the marker this fall when the summer heat subsides.

Since the recent HOA board meeting, several neighbors have asked about the timing for Boyco’s aeration of our grass this fall. Boyco plans to aerate at the end of October or early November.

If there is a utility line lying above ground in your yard, please call the utility company and ask them to come bury it deep enough to prevent the aerator from cutting it. Likewise, a few neighbors have installed drip irrigation lines just under the surface of the grass. The aerator could cut those drip lines, too, if they aren’t buried at least six inches deep. If any of this applies to you, please get those lines buried deep enough before Boyco comes to aerate to save yourself the headache of dealing with the repair.
