Courtyards at Southpoint
October 2026 Social Committee Report
We've Got a Spate of Fall Events Lined Up for You
By Lynn Black and Ginny VanWagner, Co-chairs
The fall season is upon us, although the warm temperatures make it hard to believe. Here are some highlights from the Social Committee for October:
• Oct. 5, 7 p.m., clubhouse: The neighborhood Speaker Series starts up again, featuring Mike Woodard. The program title is “Red, Purple and Blue … NC Elections.”
• Oct. 9, 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., clubhouse: Happy Hour! Sheryl Knauss will be back with fall-themed refreshments for us. Come one, come all! Please bring your own beverage.
• Oct. 11, 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., pavilion: Courtyards at Southpoint Oktoberfest! The festivities will be held at the pavilion, weather permitting, but the barbecue will go on come rain or shine. The Social Committee will provide barbecue for our residents. We will send out an RSVP sheet soon, so please watch for it and let us know if you plan on attending so we can order the right amount of food. Anyone who would like to bring sides, please do! We also hope to have several games set up for the neighborhood to enjoy. If you happen to have a cornhole set to lend for the day, please let us know. You may also want to bring chairs.
• Oct. 22, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., clubhouse: Food truck night, featuring Blue Lotus Thai.
• Oct. 28, 7 p.m., clubhouse: Speaker Series, featuring Rob Christensen on the history of the Raleigh News & Observer.
We look forward to seeing everyone at these events!
Happy Hour in September drew neighbors with great food!
