Courtyards at Southpoint
June 2026 Social Committee Report
Pool Opening, Bulletin Boards, Speaker Series, Food Truck
By Lynn Black and Ginny VanWagner, Co-chairs
The Social Committee kicked off summer with a fun pool opening and ice cream social on May 9. About 40 people stopped by to enjoy free ice cream with yummy toppings, sponsored by our friends at Edward Jones.
Rita Musante won the Edward Jones gift basket. Bruce Dykstra was the first brave neighbor in the pool and won an “I Survived the Polar Plunge” T-shirt. Many children didn't mind taking the plunge, too, and received polar wristbands.
We hope everyone has noticed the new bulletin boards next to the mailboxes. They provide another way to communicate what's happening in the neighborhood.
If you would like to join the Social Committee and can help out with a few events or have ideas for new ones, please contact us, Ginny or Lynn, on Slack. We always are looking for new fun things to do with our great Courtyards at Southpoint community.

Bruce Dykstra won an “I Survived the Polar Plunge” T-shirt for being the first brave neighbor to go for a swim in the clubhouse pool this year during the pool-opening party May 9. Lin Strube presented Bruce’s award on behalf of the Social Committee.
