August 2026 Amenities Committee Report

Thanks, Fence Repairs, Fobs, Access and More

The Amenities Committee continues to monitor, maintain, repair and improve the clubhouse, pavilion and trail amenities in our community.

Thank you to all committee members who have given your time to our many projects. Also, a huge thanks to Jerry Smith, who stepped down June 5 after serving as chair over the last eight months. Jerry oversaw the opening of the pavilion, pickleball courts and lap pool.  

The wooden fences flanking the entrance to our neighborhood have been showing their age, with warped boards and fading stain. Rather than replace or eliminate the fences, our committee submitted quotes to the board for the fences' repairs. Restoration was completed in July with coordination from the Infrastructure Committee.

Have you had difficulty entering the clubhouse pool gate using your fob? Pool gates often slam behind us when our hands are full, throwing the opening mechanism out of alignment. To help prevent this situation, an anti-slam protector has been installed on the clubhouse pool gate. We hope this will help cut down on our fob mishaps.

Times when residents can access fob-protected entries are:

• Clubhouse front door: 5 a.m. to midnight

• Clubhouse rear doors, pool gate, outside bathroom doors, lap pool: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Pavilion bathrooms: 6 a.m. to midnight

Lost fobs can be replaced. To get a new fob, contact William Douglas. They have extras but will charge a fee.

We hope you are taking advantage of the many outdoor amenities our community has to offer, especially this time of year. Our committee members have been busy completing installation of fire extinguishers, defibrillator devices, first aid kits and additional signage to ensure our residents’ safety at those facilities. In addition, we are developing annual maintenance schedules for both the clubhouse and pavilion amenities.

Plans are being made for future communitywide events at our pavilion, but if you have not already used the facilities, come by and try out our pickleball court, put your feet in the lap pool or have a drink with friends at our pavilion area soon.
