October 2025 Amenities Committee Report

Changing of the Guard and Numerous Developments

By Beverly Abbott, Chair

I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your help maintaining our community clubhouse and pool. Pool season recently ended, but your help doing things like closing and securing umbrellas, putting furniture back in place and cleaning up your area has made a tremendous difference toward a successful pool season. Your pride in our community is showing, and it has been noticed.

The same thing applies to inside the clubhouse. Cleaning table tops, wiping counters, pushing your chairs back under the table and taking out trash is more help than you can imagine. "It takes a village," and all of you are making our community the best.

Nov. 1 marks my one-year anniversary leading the Amenities Committee. It is time for me to step aside, and I have taken great pride in our team. Thank you for the opportunity. Ray and I have offered to take on some duties in a volunteer capacity.

Amenities has accomplished many great things, and we are working toward preparation of a strong foundation as the committee moves forward. Committee members have accepted specific responsibility areas, and they have been working hard to learn and document their areas.

Here are notes about amenities developments:

  • We all know our new amenities area is not yet completed, but hang in there. We will be enjoying it enough to make up for the delay.

  • Our new functional trainer in the clubhouse exercise room is now set up and "functional.”

  • The handrail for the clubhouse front entry ramp is in process, and we're hoping for installation in late October.

  • Very exciting news is that we have a contract for a fob-entry automatic door. The fob reader at the front clubhouse door will be moved, and the new door will open left to right. We can all feel very good about this step to make our clubhouse accessible. We are hoping this will be completed sometime in November, and we will keep you updated as we are informed of more progress.

  • We have obtained and have in place pest control service and HVAC service.

  • We have obtained board approval to make changes to our WiFi/Internet provider, as well as for streaming services.

  • We also have received additional art donated by community residents. Be sure to check out our growing collection.

Please take time to familiarize yourself with the community amenities guidelines. We post reminders and updates of clubhouse and pool safety on the Slack Amenities channel. Please post there if you have questions; we follow the channel and will respond. Posting on the Slack Amenities channel also allows other residents to know an issue has been reported, and we will follow up with action taken.
